Seville Car Hire

seville c

While driving around Seville can be pretty hectic at times due to its one-way streets and narrow roads, renting a car is a convenient option for exploring Seville and the surrounding destinations.

To rent a car in Seville you will need to be at least 21 years old. However, do note that there are some car hire companies which will charge supplements for drivers under 25. When renting a car you should bring your passport and driving license.

Car hire kiosks can be found at the airport, on the ground floor of the terminal building. There are also car rental offices in the city centre. In addition, many large car hire companies will allow you to reserve your rental vehicle in advance online.

Many of the major international car rental firms have a presence in Seville, such chains include:

  • Hertz
  • Europcar
  • Avis
  • Atesa (Enterprise)

However, it is often cheaper to rent a car from a small national company. In addition, smaller companies tend to offer more personal customer service and may offer extra services such as dropping the rental car off at your hotel or picking it up from the hotel when you are finished using it. Auriga/Crown is one of the cheapest local rental companies in the area.

What To Do In Seville

La Maestranza

Dating back to the 17th century, La Maestranza is Seville’s bullring and one of the most important of Spain’s bullfighting arenas. If you want to catch a bullfight, make sure you time your visit between Easter and October as this is the bullfighting season. Nevertheless, the bullring’s museum is open throughout the year for those curious to learn more.

Catedral de Sevilla & La Giralda

Seville’s cathedral and bell tower are not to be missed while on holiday in Seville. Seville’s gargantuan cathedral is the largest gothic temple in Europe and among the top three largest Christian churches in the whole world. Not only is the cathedral visually stunning but it is also home to some important tombs and pieces of artwork, including the tomb of Christopher Columbus. La Giralda is the cathedral’s bell tower and is open to the public. The top of the bell tower offers stunning panoramic views of the city so be sure to bring your camera!

Isla Mágica

Isla Mágica, the Magic Island in English, is an exciting theme park themed around golden days of Seville’s seafaring trade and is a great choice for those on a family holiday. The theme park is divided up into a number of interesting themed lands, each with its own unique character and array of attractions. With water rides, rollercoasters, shows and more, there is something for the whole family to enjoy in La Isla Mágica.
